Let me tell you my brothers and sisters, debt free living has never tasted so good. To speak metaphorically, it tastes like this $12 margarita I'm sipping at my Miami-area country club. Ten years ago, I could never have imagined what this would feel like. They don't serve you booze in jail, after all.

I was down and out. Struggling financially, facing a life sentence for a couple of killings. You know, the usual. Well, in truth, while I never wish to relive those days I am grateful for them somewhat. Until you've been sued for $30 million, and paid a few more seven-figure sums to the bloodsucking lawyers, you never really appreciate how good debt free living feels.

You see, there is a silver lining to every dark cloud. And once you discover what debt free living is like, those dark clouds will start to disappear. Ha ha ha!

Debt free living in today's America

It's getting harder and harder, trying to make a debt free living these days. The country clubs are getting more and more expensive, the restaurants I frequent are starting to charge me more than the average person (I swear to you this is true), and everywhere you go, someone is trying to sue you over something. But I digress. After all, I have a lot to be grateful for. Over a year in the county jail makes debt free living seem like paradise, even if I had to give up most of my expensive European sports cars.

The $30 million civil settlement, which I touched on earlier, has made debt free living even more difficult. But I persevered. That's what you have to do to achieve debt free living. Stick with it! Focus! Don't let the man drag you down and frame you for a crime. Whether or not you actually did it is of little consequence. Be true to yourself, consider what's important in life, and debt free living will soon come to you. You have to believe.
